To achieve this international society, what international law do we need?
These are the questions the International Law Association has posed to its members in 2023, to commemorate 150 of its existence. In this context, the French branch of ADI/ILA initiated and completed the preparation of a series of thematic white papers on different aspects corresponding to major challenges of the 21st century, guided by the idea of “Building Tomorrow”, the motto of the 150 anniversary of the International Law Association.
Throughout the year 2023, the ILA continuously organises a series of webinars discussing the white papers by panels of practitioners, academics and relevant working professionals that differ from the authors. Additionally, the ILA has conceptualised a symposium in June and a day of conclusion of this exercise in December. In 2024, recommendations will be published stemming from these activities.
In this context, ILA and ECSL will be organising a hybrid panel discussion following the white paper on outer space which was coordinated by two ECSL Board Members, Prof. Philippe Achilleas and Prof. Stephan Hobe.
