Mission Alpha

ESA / About Us / Exhibitions

In 2021, ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet returned to the International Space Station for his second mission, which was named Alpha after the star Alpha Centauri, located in the same system as Proxima.

In collaboration with ESA and the French Space Agency (CNES), Cité de l'espace presented a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the heart of this extraordinary mission.

Visitors could enter a simulated control room, with information updated day by day, and discover Team Alpha, the scientific and technical teams who helped Thomas Pesquet with his activities on the International Space Station during his mission.
