ESA – J. Aprea (2019)
On 11–12 June 2019, ESA in Italy welcomed end users and developers to a workshop covering the latest Vega, Vega-C, Vega-Evo and Space Rider developments and opportunities. The event was opened by Daniel Neuenschwander, ESA Director of Space Transportation.
On the first day, there were presentations from ESA, Industrial Prime Contractors, Payloads Aggregators and Services Operators. These gave the status of the Vega exploitation and on-going developments of Vega-C, Vega-Evo and Space Rider, the perspectives and the opportunities to European developers and end users, including ESA Member States Delegations, developers from the space transportation sector such as industries, research organisations and universities, and end users from the different space applications sectors (i.e. satellites manufacturers, payloads providers).
The workshop also provided details on the elements of the ongoing programmes development activities, encompassing all Vega upcoming products for access to space in low-Earth orbit, including their exploitation perspectives.
On the second day, the workshop participants met with ESA and the Industrial Prime Contractors in splinter meetings to discuss perspectives and opportunities of interest.
